Welcome to the Cheltenham Challenge, a multi-terrain event offering 5k, 10k and Half Marathon distances. There is something for everyone, including experienced runners, novices, juniors, families, children and walkers.
NOTE: The former Marathon and Ultra events are discontinued. (Why?)
Starting at Cheltenham Racecourse, the routes use public footpaths and sections of the Cheltenham Circular Footpath, Cotswold Way and Winchcombe Way, passing through glorious Cotswold countryside and offering fantastic views.
The 5k and 10k routes are reasonably level with some small inclines. The Half Marathon loop starts at around 60m elevation and climbs to 330m elevation, reaching the highest point in the Cotswolds. With undulations, the total climb on this loop is around 360m. The route lengths have been measured by GPS and Google Earth and are guaranteed to meet or exceed the stated event distances.
All finishers will receive a Cheltenham Challenge medal. Participants who register before the end of March 2017 will also receive a free Cheltenham Challenge T-shirt.
Managed by Cheltenham-based charity CCP, the Cheltenham Challenge is an annual event that has raised over half a million pounds for more than 80 charities to date. You are welcome to use the Cheltenham Challenge to fundraise for CCP or any other charity of your choice, or to get yourself fit, attain a PB, or just for fun!
