It is with extreme sadness that we confirm that Cheltenham Challenge on Sunday 14th June 2020 will no longer be going ahead.
The team at CCP have been closely monitoring the Global emergency surrounding the Covid-19 outbreak and we must put health of all involved in the event at the forefront. Following the advice from our UK Government on Monday 23rd March, we have had to make this decision for the safety of our local community.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting the Cheltenham Challenge. To those who have entered our 5k, 10k or Half Marathon races this year, your place will be deferred to a Summer 2021 date (TBC). All participants will receive an email from the CCP Events Team with more information on this. We know how disappointing this news will be to our amazing participants but please know that your training is not wasted, we encourage you to keep running and use it as an outlet to support you through these unsettling times and come back stronger next year.
Any money raised already will be put to good use whilst supporting CCP’s most vulnerable clients during this worrying time. Additional thanks goes to our volunteers, sponsors and other stakeholders for their continued support of the Cheltenham Challenge and CCP as a charity.
Thanks so much for your understanding and patience – We will send an update as soon as we can with a new date for Cheltenham Challenge 2021.
Welcome to the Cheltenham Challenge, Gloucestershire’s original multi-terrain, multi-distance event offering 5K, 10K and Half Marathon distances. The 5K and 10K are open to all ages, runners and walkers. The Half Marathon is for adults 17+ only and must be completed within 4 hours. All races are single laps through the glorious Gloucestershire countryside, with the Half Marathon presenting a tough climb to the top of Cleeve Hill before descending through the notorious Nutters Wood.
Are you up for The Challenge?
We’ve listened, and we’re pleased to announce that Cheltenham Challenge finishers’ T-Shirts are returning for 2020.

Cheltenham Challenge is organised by Gloucestershire-based charity Caring for Communities and People (CCP). There is no obligation to raise sponsorship in order to participate, however, any fundraising you can do for CCP will help us to tackle the causes and effects of homelessness and family breakdown. Please visit our main CCP website for more information on the services we deliver in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire and Dorset.
Cheltenham Challenge is committed to reducing our impact on the environment by reducing wastage and limiting the use of single-use disposable plastic containers. We ask that participants BRING AND RUN WITH their own REFILLABLE DRINKS BOTTLE. Water stations will be equipped with pumps for refilling.
We gratefully acknowledge the support given by our sponsors
